TRANQUIL VALLEY SANCTUARY OFFERS PROGRAMS TO ASSIST OUR VETERANS AND MILITARY AS WELL AS THEIR
FAMILIES. WE HAVE PROGRAMS THAT HELP RECOVER FROM THE INVISIBLE WOUNDS OF WAR. WE ARE SOON GOING TO BE OFFERING
A THERAPEUTIC RIDING PROGRAM FOR RECOVERY FROM PHYSICAL WOUNDS OF WAR. WE WILL ALSO OFFER A WEEK OF SUMMER CAMP AT THE
FARM NEXT SUMMER FOR THE CHILDREN OF VETERANS AND MILITARY.
Veterans program
Taming
the Mustang, a program dedicated to our Veterans. We hope to help you get beyond both physical and invisible wounds
of war. TO REGISTER CALL US AT 801-540-2724 OR
EMAIL US AT TRANQUILVALLEY@GMAIL.COM I have seen horses bond with both the young and old, both men and women, animal lovers,
and not. They have a way of getting inside our heads and bringing us somewhere that we can only travel with them.
As my children were growing up and getting on with their lives, I found a need to share my love with others. I have
lived on Military bases my entire life. I feel that we can never appreciate what these men and women have done for us to a
satisfactory level. They have given their lives to our freedom. Many times they come home with very little fanfare.
They are often bruised and battered from the effects of combat. I feel that it is my time to give back and this program
can do just that. I have seen equine psychotherapy make a differance in the lives of people that have been struggling
for many years with traditional counciling. Our soldiers deserve the best that we can offer. They deserve to have
their lives returned to them as quickly and efficiently as possible. If I can make the differance to just one soldier
then all the years dedicated to this endeavor will be worthwhile. At Tranquil Valley Sanctuary a dream is becoming a
reality. Horses that may not have made it otherwise have found a place to rest. Soldiers that have seen the HELL
of war can also find a place that is Tranquil and rewarding. They can learn to live with themselves and others and to
accept the horrors that war has bestowed upon them. I hope only to help them to move on with their lives, whether they
remain in the military or choose to pursue the civilian world. I
still have to maintain full time employment to support this program, but every weekend and every vacation day or holiday will
be dedicated to this program. We hope to eventually offer summer camps for the children of military families.
And weekend camps that soldiers can bring their families to just to relax and reconnect. Sometimes it is just good to
get off the base but still be with friends and family. We hope to offer a Sanctuary where this can take place.
Good friends, good food, and a good time for all. One will never know that therapy can be so warm and personal.
"When you raise your right hand and put
on that uniform, you assume you're going to be taken care of,” said Paul Rieckhoff, founder of the Iraq and Afghanistan
Veterans of America.
